Ginger Beef Stir-Fry


  • 3 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 500g stir-fry beef strips
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup thinly sliced carrots
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 200g green beans
  • 1 brown onion sliced
  • 3/4 cup beef stock
  • Cooked brown rice to serve


  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 tbsp cornflour and water until smooth. Add beef strips and toss to coat.
  2. In a large wok or frypan stir-fry beef in batches in oil until cooked, remove from pan and keep warm. In same pan stir-fry carrots, onion, beans and celery until desired.
  3. Place remaining cornflour in a bowl, stir in stock until smooth, add soy sauce and ginger.
  4. Return beef to wok and stir in stock mixture. Bring to boil and cook for 2 mins or until thickened. Serve over brown rice, sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
