Dippy Egg and Soldiers


  • Eggs, 2 per person
  • 4 cups water
  • Whole meal sliced bread,
  • 1 slice per person
  • Low fat margarine


  1. In a small saucepan add water and bring to a simmer. Add eggs, simmer for 3 minutes, then turn off heat. Cover the pan and leave for 2 mins more.
  2. Toast slices of wholemeal bread, spread with low fat margarine and cut into soldiers / slices.
  3. To serve place egg in egg cup, gently tap the top of the egg with a spoon and remove so toast can
  4. be dipped into egg.

Handy Tip

Makes a great afterschool snack for all ages.
