Backyard Improvement Program

Each year the Lead Alliance give Mount Isa residents with young children the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes by joining our Backyard Improvement Program.

The Backyard Improvement Program is a major initiative that has been developed to provide advice and assistance for parents to improve gardens and play areas where children congregate.

This competition encourages parents to make relevant changes to their gardens and contribute to a healthier lifestyle for Mount Isa city’s children. By reducing the amount of bare soil areas in their yards reduces the risk of elevated blood lead levels in children and winning some fantastic prizes. It is essential that the Mount Isa community work together to ensure that our children have a safe and healthy environment to learn and play in.
